Solutions for Everyday Life

The institution’s child welfare system consists of the Child Welfare Center (which provides services for children at risk in the district’s municipalities, working to reduce and eliminate endangerment) and the family support service, which provides local assistance.

Among our professionals are social workers, social pedagogues, psychologists, family therapists, and teachers who support children and families. A special service of the Child Welfare Center is school and kindergarten social work, through which our specialists are available in all kindergartens and schools of the district on every school day, supporting their child welfare activities. Another special service is street and housing estate social work, which both conducts important child welfare activities in public spaces and operates the municipality’s youth offices.

Another special service of our Child Welfare Center is contact supervision, where separated parents and grandparents can maintain contact with their children or grandchildren in a safe and supportive environment, when day-to-day cooperation is not possible in the best interest of the child.

Our child welfare service is available 24 hours a day. Outside office hours, we operate a crisis hotline to ensure that no child is left in a dangerous situation simply because difficulties occur outside the institution’s opening hours.

Our child welfare system also provides indispensable residential care for families struggling with housing or financial difficulties. Thanks to this support, parents can continue caring for their children while receiving the assistance needed to improve their chances later in the labor and housing markets.

Our social professionals provide tailored assistance to elderly people, persons with disabilities, and those struggling with housing difficulties in overcoming everyday challenges. For the elderly, we support everyday life in their homes through home care services, and for their safety we provide 24-hour monitoring and assistance via an alarm-based system.

Those interested can take part in programs on weekdays at the Day Care Center for the Elderly, while those needing more support can receive assistance in the Residential Home. Our services for the elderly complement each other, providing supportive responses to the various challenges of old age and enabling a peaceful and active later life.

For those who cannot otherwise secure housing, the institution offers a night shelter where they can spend the night in a safe and restful environment, and during the day they can use services at the warming center. We also provide temporary accommodation for people struggling with housing difficulties who, with this support, can live a full life and later secure long-term housing. For those who cannot or will not use our services and spend their days homeless, in unsuitable shelters, or on the streets, our professionals provide low-threshold harm reduction and street-based services.

We support the daily lives of people with disabilities by assisting with household tasks, helping with travel, and offering daily activities and developmental programs. The products of our pottery and sewing workshops showcase the work of people with disabilities employed there.

With its services, the Social Care Center provides responses to life’s difficulties from pregnancy through old age. A civil organization operating alongside the institution helps in implementing our activities. Our professionals provide solutions not only “from behind a desk,” but also by delivering support directly in clients’ homes or, when necessary, in public spaces. We are available both in person and through online consultations.
