Alarm-Based Home Assistance is one form of basic social services. Although not a mandatory municipal task, it provides a valuable safety net for elderly or disabled individuals, as well as people with psychiatric conditions, who live in their own homes but are in need of support due to their health or social situation. The service offers immediate help in crisis situations, enabling clients to maintain an independent lifestyle with the use of an emergency alarm device.

Within the framework of the alarm-based home assistance service, the following must be ensured:

The alarm-based home assistance operates in a continuous standby system. When a call for help is received, the dispatcher centre notifies the on-duty caregiver—providing the client’s name, address, and other relevant information—who must arrive at the client’s home within 30 minutes. Before the service can be used, the client’s social need must be assessed.

By organizing these basic services, the state and the local municipality help socially disadvantaged individuals maintain independent living in their own homes and communities, and support them in addressing problems arising from health, mental, or other conditions.

Each client is provided with a main unit that allows two-way communication with the caregiver. A landline phone connection is required for installation. The service is free of charge for socially disadvantaged residents of Érd, Diósd, and Tárnok.

The service provides for the user:
