What is the Disability Support Service? – Legal Background

- Providing the personal and material conditions for access to healthcare, social services, and developmental activities appropriate to the person’s general health and type of disability;
- Providing information, assistance with administration, and counselling, as well as ensuring access to services that promote social inclusion after counselling;
- Ensuring access to sign language interpreting services;
- Supporting the improvement of communication skills, strengthening family relations, and participation in self-help groups for persons with disabilities;

How to Apply for the Service?

During the initial meeting and counselling session, we discuss what kind of support the person with a disability needs and how it can be provided within the framework of the Disability Support Service.
The service aims to meet the specific needs of the person with a disability, tailored to their age, situation, and health condition, while maintaining, utilizing, and developing existing abilities and easing the burden on family members and relatives.
If the applicant decides to use the service, the provider will inform the applicant (and, if applicable, the legal representative) about the earliest possible start date of the service.
The provision of care is based on a written agreement between the provider and the service user (or their legal representative). This agreement summarizes the key information regarding the individualized service to be provided.
To ensure that the service user or their legal representative has a full understanding of how the service operates, they will be introduced to the provider’s professional program.
