The aim of family support is to provide effective assistance, through the tools of social work, to individuals and families facing social and mental health problems or crisis situations. Family support is also a service that places emphasis on prevention, resolving crisis situations and preserving life management skills.

We provide the tasks related to family support and child welfare services in the area of Érd. Our work with families is greatly supported by the specialised services of the Family and Child Welfare Centre of Érd.

Our professional tasks

  • mapping, based on reports, the families and individuals living in the service area who are affected by social and mental health problems
  • personal contact in each reported case and provision of information on the purpose and tasks of the service
  • social, life management and mental health counselling
  • family care covering both the environment and the family members, home visits, and preparation of environmental assessments
  • helping those facing financial difficulties to access available financial and in-kind support and organising access to such support
  • conflict management and support in restoring dysfunctional family relationships
  • providing information and support in administration
  • organising community development, individual and group programmes
  • identifying job opportunities for people affected by unemployment
  • cooperation with persons of active working age receiving regular social assistance, counselling, and development of skills and abilities
  • providing special forms of support for persons with debt burdens, housing problems, addictions, psychiatric conditions, and disabilities
  • facilitating social integration as provided for in the integration agreement defined by the asylum law
  • making proposals and initiating the introduction of new services
  • providing youth counselling and information opportunities, and organising programmes
  • addressing problems arising from the specific situation of the Roma community
  • facilitating the establishment of special support groups and self-help groups
  • collecting and managing donations
  • coordination tasks of the Drug Coordination Forum of Érd City with County Rights, and organisation of drug prevention programmes and activities.

In order to support the child’s physical and mental health and upbringing within the family

  • providing information on children’s rights and on supports ensuring the child’s development, and assisting access to these supports
  • providing counselling on family planning, psychology, education, healthcare, mental health and prevention of harmful addictions, or organising access to such counselling
  • supporting and assisting pregnant mothers in crisis situations, providing advice, and organising their access to social services and basic child welfare services, especially services available in temporary homes for families
  • organising leisure programmes
  • assisting with the management of official matters.
