Individual movement therapy and group exercise with music

For us, individual movement therapy is not only about strengthening muscles. It is a real all-round support that improves coordination, increases independence and even boosts wellbeing. Group exercise with music is an integral part of our everyday life; good company and a cheerful atmosphere add something extra that makes the exercises even more enjoyable.

Aquatic exercise

At the Érd Arena, weekly sessions led by a professional help improve general fitness, posture, coordination, balance and wellbeing.

Drama workshop

Through the tools of drama education, we can “model” situations that occur in everyday life and the possible responses to them. Role plays and situational exercises help participants acquire abilities and skills that support more effective conflict management, the release of internal tension and the processing of failures and setbacks.

Special education support

This means special education guidance for adults living with disabilities, including support throughout the service user’s life, organising meaningful activities, developing practical intelligence and helping them navigate everyday life. Building on and complementing the programmes of related professional fields already operating as good practice in our institution — such as the drama workshop, movement theatre and music therapy — we develop attention, memory and thinking individually and in small groups.

Dog therapy

The certified therapy dogs and trainers of the Azúr Dog Therapy Association are regular visitors to our centre. During these encounters, great emphasis is placed on developing social, cognitive, motor and communication skills — and, of course, on creating a cheerful atmosphere.

Leisure activities

We consider it important that leisure activities are a regular part of the daily routine, as our aim is for the time spent in the institution to be joyful and rich in experiences. We organise excursions, cinema and theatre visits, and presentations, and encourage participants to be able to organise and use their free time meaningfully outside the institution as well.

Story therapy

Using the method of story therapy and live storytelling based on personal stories, significant results can be achieved. In these stories, we all become characters. During storytelling, not only concentration and imagination develop, but also self-awareness and problem-solving skills. The symbols of the story help participants keep a distance from their problems, while by stepping into the role of a story character they can face their own injuries and difficulties. In this way, they can gain a clearer view of challenges and find possible answers to them.

Meditation

Participants in guided meditation learn to focus on themselves and place themselves within a story that evokes different sensations in both body and soul. During the sessions, they learn proper breathing techniques, develop body awareness, and have the opportunity to get to know, accept and love themselves more deeply.

Preparation for work

Based on a structured programme, we help participants understand workplace expectations, learn appropriate behaviour and communication, and become aware of their rights and responsibilities. All of this knowledge contributes to successful employment in the open labour market.

Handbell Ensemble

The Handbell Ensemble was founded by Eszter Bolyki, who led it for more than 20 years. After “Aunt Eszter” retired, Ádám Rozbora took over the baton in 2016. Under his leadership, the ensemble received the Special Prize of the European Handbell and Bell Festival in both 2018 and 2019.

Since June 2025, the group has been led by Ágota Héjjas, while Erika Dóry contributes as guitar accompanist during performances and rehearsals. Both support the ensemble as volunteers. Their repertoire includes classical and popular music pieces, as well as folk songs.

The “Handbell Players” perform at numerous events. These performances not only provide a sense of achievement for the members, but also contribute to strengthening the social acceptance of people living with disabilities.

The activity of the Handbell Ensemble is a good example of our institution’s commitment to supporting an inclusive approach, creative self-expression and active social participation.

Felhőjárók Movement Theatre

The Felhőjárók Movement Theatre is an artistic community that was founded in Százhalombatta in 2003 and has been operated by the Felhőjárók Foundation since 2021. Since then, several members of the Habilitation Centre have joined the group. The Felhőjárók tell stories through the language of gestures and movement — about abandonment, acceptance, joy and sorrow, and the game called LIFE. Instead of pity, our aim is to strengthen the feeling of “we are one” in others: that we all long for the same thing — to love and to be loved. The group has performed successfully at numerous national and international festivals.
